Can you bio-hack, be a minimalist and live in an RV? Those are some of the questions we’re talking about in the Mindi Zone.
Here’s the transcript for those of you who prefer to read:
Hi everyone! It’s Mindi Rosser from mindizone.com and I’m here today with Mikayla. Today we’re talking about bio-hacking in an RV and it’s not as easy as you might think.
One of the things I have struggled with is being a bio-hacker and a minimalist because as a minimalist I want to have the fewest number of things I possibly can to get by. And as a bio-hacker sometimes you need some geeky gadgetry to do the bio-hack.
I’ve been looking for ways to do very cheap bio-hacks that don’t require me to purchase stuff. One of the things I have been doing and I talked about it in my blog post this week is going outside and earthing by walking around barefoot. Now we have had a roach problem so I’m a little bit scared of the roaches that may be out there but hopefully if I wait until the daytime there won’t be too many of those.
Another way would be drinking salted lemon water. I know it sounds kind of gross but it’s a way to keep yourself hydrated. As you can see I’m sweating like crazy, had to turn off the air-conditioner, it was a little bit too noisy.
Another way to bio-hack would be to get some vitamin D. So instead of taking a pill and having one more thing in my cabinet I can go outside and get some vitamin D. As you can see I took a little too far the other day. But those are samples of simple bio-hacks you can do in an RV without buying stuff.
I think the key is balancing your minimalism with your bio-hacking. So I like the first-in first-out principle which means if I get something new I have to get rid of something old. This ensures I cannot stockpile a bunch of stuff which is kind of hard to do in an RV anyways. Although I have saw some people here in the RV park who can store a lot of stuff underneath their trailer and outside.
Anyways, that’s all for now and I want to answer your bio-hacking questions and how you can do that no matter what life situation you are in. If you have any questions, comments or topics you would like me to discuss in future episodes you can shoot me an email at email@example.com and Mikayla wants to say “bye, it’s hot in here Mommy!”.
