What is a Sales Pipeline

What is a Sales Pipeline

Ever heard the term “pipeline” and wondered what it meant? Every business owner has a pipeline, which is what they fill with potential customers. If there’s nobody in the pipeline, there is no business, no revenue, no money.

Most B2C (business to consumer) businesses may not focus on pipeline because they are more focused on getting A LOT of customers to buy their product.

As opposed to B2B (business to business) companies with a complex sale, where they are selling based on developing one-to-one relationships with their customers.

If your client is in the B2B space, you may hear them talk about filling a pipeline, generating leads or building a sales funnel.

The key to business growth is having a healthy pipeline, where the flow of prospects is enough to sustain or grow the business. Think about supply and demand.

Pipeline Specialists are the people who work behind the scenes with these business owners to fill their pipeline, so their work is directly tied to the revenue of the business and their ability to charage a premium for their services.

Many VAs I’ve spoken with are tired of doing “all the things” and when they discover that they can focus on a niche with the potential to earn them more $$$ - they want to learn more about what it takes to become a Pipeline Specialist.
